About Sean
I am a PhD student in History at SUNY Binghamton studying French and Atlantic history. I have been studying French for 10 years, and am proficient at the B1 level. I am happy to help you with writing and reading comprehension in particular, and have experience with the DELF exams. I work as a teaching assistant, and sometimes get to teach my own classes, with particular focuses on European, American, and Atlantic history. I am based both in Binghamton, NY during the semester and in Kansas City, MO on breaks.

I prefer to lead discussions, to let my students tell me what it is they're looking for in a particular lesson. I am willing to work with any students, especially high school through undergrad and graduate school to adults wanting to pick up French in their free time. When appropriate I will use videos and music to provide some context and first-hand experience for my language students. Many have found that reading subtitles in French can help them tremendously in their effort to understand the language when spoken.
