About Amy
I am a 500 Hour Certified Yoga Instructor with 13 years of practice and 6 years of teaching. I believe in a student-centered approach to yoga with a focus on breath, stability, and mindfulness. With thorough training and practice in a variety of yoga methods, I like to pull from a number of teaching styles.
The physical practice of yoga refreshes my body and mind daily. Yoga saved me from myself, and continues to do so time and time again. Sharing these tools with others never feels like work, it is the least I can do to be of help in this crazy, fast-paced world we are trying to keep up with today.
When I first began practicing yoga it was merely to complete a few extra college credits. I had never done yoga before and I was not expecting much when I walked in to that first class, but little did I know it would quickly become one of the many loves in my life. I began practicing to help me effectively handle youthful hormones, anxiety, and depression. After four years of devoted practice I completed my first teacher training, and I have had the honor, privilege, and opportunity to teach ever since.

When I first begin with a new student I like to learn what your goals and expectations are of starting a yoga practice. From this focal point we are able to explore a variety of methods to help you achieve whole body wellness.
There have been many amazing students that I have been able to work with over the years with a variety of different challenges to explore and overcome. Yoga is for every body, and no matter how difficult it may seem to start a new physical practice, I promise, there is a method of yoga that will work for your unique circumstances.
It isn't about the number of training hours or having infinite knowledge about yoga. It is about the time spent on the mat, practicing, living, and using yoga despite any personal physical, or mental setbacks. It is all about practice.
Since moving to San Antonio in 2015 I have been able to teach in some of the most beautiful places in the city. I have recently had the privilege to teach on the roof of Artpace downtown at sunset. The combination of the sunset, breath, and humming city below solidified my love of not only the practice, but the city of San Antonio.
