About Markay
I use a scientific, evidence-based approach to coaching clients about holistic health, nutrition and wellness in ways that nourish their body, mind and soul.
I am a respectful, welcoming and supportive coach that has studied the body, its form and function, and taught movement for more than 15 years. I have taught in fitness and yoga studios, with private clients and in corporate settings.
I have an immense respect for nutritional science and use both allopathic (western) and Ayurvedic (eastern) philosophies as well as a yogic approaches to encourage, educate an empower anyone interested in creating a more holistic and prolific life.
I work to find ways to personalize your goals, practice and mindfully moderate your choices to accomplish your health and wellness objetives.

I love the direct impact and connection I share with my clients. I love when my clients are able to increase their self-confidence and agency, via connecting to the mind and moving the body, and then are able to more fully embrace their lives in other ways.
I have always been fascinated by the body and how it works to protect and heal us.
I then went on to learn about nutrition, food and yoga. I love the impact small changes had on my life and I wanted to share some of these benefits with others in a responsible way so I went to get educated and ... the rest is history!

We will spend our time getting introduced, sharing the goals and intentions for working together. Many questions are answered, concerns are discussed and expectations for future sessions established.
If nutrition related, we will then co-create simple, realistic goals for building confidence and accountability in preparation for the series of future sessions.
If yoga related, we will then engage in a closing physical practice to allow the student to get an idea of the series of future sessions.
I work with all types of students. Some are young and agile. Some are recovering from an illness, an injury or some sort of trauma. Some are living in aging bodies, larger bodies, transgender bodies, priviledged bodies. Some are curious to learn about nutrition for weight loss, while others are leveraging yoga as a complementary treatment to their eating disorder/disordered eating recovery plan. Some simply wanting to help be held accountabily in a supportive environment, to learn how to form habits, become more flexible, increase their vitality and improve their relationship with their food, body and breath. Any and all are welcome!
Ensure that they listen to you and do not push/force their ways of practicing/thinking on you. Make sure that they have proper qualifications and education. The last thing that I would want to have happen would be to have an injury/trauma occure due to inadequate education.
