About Debbie
I offer one on one yoga therapy sessions to individuals, couples, and groups. It is an opportunity to connect mindfully in the moment with what is happening in your body and mind. Present moment experience often reflects how we are showing up in our life and offers some wisdom to consider. My training as a mental health professional supports me in holding space for people as they engage their breath and body through movement while we explore what is showing up. As awareness and insight arise, a person can consider if there are any shifts they want to make based on what they discovered. Besides awareness, working with the body offers people a chance to release what has been stuck through breath, mindful awareness, and movement. The session is similar to a meditation with the body as a portal. My office is located in a physical therapy office that also has a yoga studio attached.
Meeting the people who are courageous to explore, to discover, and to learn about themselves. Getting creative in sessions to support a healing process. Trusting that each one of us has the blueprint within for our own evolution and being a witness to another's process.
I started my personal yoga journey in 2006 after much resistance to attending a class. I fell in love immediately and continue to practice. I went to Asheville, NC with my sweetheart, Steven, to do a 200 hour yoga teach training and now teach at a few studios. I completed a 900 hour training program to become certified as a yoga therapist. This allows me to offer one on one, couple, and group sessions.
I am a trained mental health professional and a certified yoga therapist. I have also traveled to India to study meditation and processes designed for heailng.

Engaging initially via phone or email to understand what they are looking for and if I am a good fit. When they arrive in a classroom environment, I wlll check in to see how there day has been and how their body is feeling.
If I am working one on one in a yoga therapy session, there is a more formal evaluation process to understand what they are dealing with on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.
Many different kinds - those new to yoga, never having experienced it to those who have practiced for a significant amount of time. Most were greatly interested in the benefits of yoga on a physical level but also the mental level - looking for ways to calm their mind, reduce their stress, and help them connect to something that provides peace.
What is your intention in practicing yoga or receiving a one on one session ?
Interview, ask questions to make sure there is a fit between you and the teacher.
Bhakti Fest in Joshua Tree, CA. A yoga, kirtan, and meditation event in the desert that was absolutely phenomenal !

One on one yoga therapy sessions are $65 for an hour; $165 for 3 sessions; $300 for 6 sessions.
