About Teresa
I Love teaching private swim lessons. Where I get to be hands on with each indiviual student. I can plan, show, and teach the best methods for safety, swimming and even competition if the student wants to learn.
I have taught in Utah and Texas for a total of three years. I have swam competitivly from Elementary to High School. I have swam with my family since I was three months old, yes I said that right. In college I learned to teach swimming and fell deeply in love with it!
I have been dreaming for 8 years to start my own business teaching swimming and here I am making my dreams a reality!
I have 10 years of medical experience. I was an EMT and I am a current Nurse Assitant. I have worked in Ambulance, ER, Trauma, and other units at a major hospital in the TMC.
I speak spanish fluenty. Yo Hablo Espanol!

When I was in College I was looking for a job that would be flexible and fun. I found an ad on the Bullitin and I applied. I was so excited to be back in the water and teaching something that I love so very much! Even though I worked other jobs I have kept returning to teaching swimming and I finally took my dream of being a swim instructor/owner and now I am making that reality!
I trained with Utah's leading Swim and Tri Athlete Company to because a Private Swim Instructor and Assistant Coach.
I have taught swimming for three years in Utah and Texas.
I am a former EMT from Florida with 1 1/2 year experience in Amublance, ER and other emergency trainings.
I have 7 years of being a Nurse Assistant. Working in the ICU, ER, Triage, and other unit in a major hospital here in the TMC, Utah and Florida.

I have taught children as young as three and up to the age 80! I enjoy the trust and giggles my little children give and I enjoy the challenge of teaching an adult to overcome their fears and learn how to swim at Any age! I also have worked with differently abled people such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy and multiple sclerious. Since I have a medical background I am interested and willing to work with anyone! Everyone is welcome and because I ONLY teach private one on one lessons my students do not need to fear inturuption, the instructor being overwhelmed or distracted, and or having other people taking up the pool or space.

If the lesson is a group lesson, how long exactly will you or your child be in the water during the lesson time?
What is the ratio between instructor and the students?
Where are the lessons being taught? If it is a busy pool and you have to share the lane with another group it may be too crowded.
I was priviledged to teach a young girl who had had a horrible drowning experience. She was at the beach with her family and she drowned. Her father pulled her out of the water and he resusitated her. Two years after her drowning experience she begged her parents to let her take swimming lessons so she could let go of her understandable fear of water. I was so very proud of her for just being willing to take swimming lessons. She is still one of my best swim students to this day. Not only did she overcome her fear of water but she learned how to swim and stay safe in all suitations involving water. I do Not push or overwhelm my students. I only gently encouarge and if I see that it is too much then I change directions and teach something different.

Details
I offer a couple of packages.
For Children I offer a Beginner Package: It includes 16 total lessons, one on one with the Instructor for 30 minutes each lesson. Three times weekly, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost is $30 per lesson or $480 total. Payment is due upfront or you may pay half upfront and the other half at the half way point of the lessons.
The Child Intermediate Package: Is similar to the Beginer but it is for 8 to 10 Lessons, same time, same days of the week and same price per lesson. If you desire I can teach up to competition which means to help your child prepare to be on a swim team. These are private lessons.
Adult Package: 10 to 12 Lessons depending on the adults need. The lesson will be for 1 hour. They cost $45 per lesson. Total price would vary depending on how many lessons you take. The lessons are once or twice during the week and/or weekend. Evenings and Saturdays are when adult lessons take place. These are also private lessons.
