About Matt
I have been teaching Filipino Martial Arts (weapons, joint locks, strikes, kicks) since 1998 and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (ground fighting) for 5 years. I have been a police officer since 1993 and a police defensive tactics instructor since 1996. I can travel to you and tailor classes to individual student's needs.
I love getting to exercise while helping people improve themselves!
I am a 5th degree black belt in Filipino Martial Arts and a 4-stripe brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I have been teaching police defensive tactics since 1996.

First off, Matt is very welcoming and makes it comfortable, especially for beginners, to dive into the world of martial arts.
Matt can teach beginner through advanced levels. He has an awesome grasp of the fundamentals, but he can build these fundamentals into sophisticated systems for intermediate and advanced practitioners.
In terms of his teaching, again very approachable format. Each movement is broken down into its individual steps. Very technical and practical delivery. It’s a great format for kids to learn too.
