About Matthew
I have made a living creating images with cameras and computers for over 25 years. Beginning when I was a kid i high school, I learned about the camera and the way it sees light and just as importantly, how that differs from the ay our eyes see light and how each translates that information to a print or a digital image. I have had classes in image creation and manipulation but my strength in helping others learn these things is that much or what I have learned, I learned by doing and I can help folks find ways to learn the same way I did and not just shovel money into classes.
I love observing the world and trying to capture new perspectives with the tools I have available to me. I also like to convert these perspectives with my imagination and use the tools available in the computer software to project those imaginations so that others can sees oem of them as well.
I studied photography and graphic design in college after fanning the flame in high school. From college, I began a career in graphic design and art direction while continuing to pursue photography for myself. I have made a successful living in a creative field creating and maipulating images in both real and surreal ways. Since I beacame a professional creative in the 1990's, I have had the opportunity to learn from incredibly knowledgable and talented peers and experience some excellent seminars and workshops to add to my abilities.

First and foremost, I want to find out what a person wants to be able to do. Then I take that information and start at the components of my knowledge most closely related to helping them achieve their goal. Along the way, I hope to find a way to spark additional interest which enables me to share ways to use this new knowledge to expand their reach which I encourage to be beyond their grasp. A solid foundation in either photography and/or computer software seems to lead to a desire to expand and combine each to improve that grasp and lead to reaching further.
