About Dylan
I try my best to adhere to the student's learning style and personalize my teaching methods to best fit their needs. I also make it a personal goal to answer any questions the student may have to the best of my ability, in order to improve, and hopefully perfect, their understanding of the material.
I enjoy the personal aspect of one-on-one tutoring, as it provides a connection between teacher and student that a classroom doesn't have. In addition to this, I also enjoy being able to focus entirely on the student and cater to their needs.
I started in college as a tutor for other students, as my social group inspired me to help others that are struggling in previous courses I have taken.
I am currently a 4th year attending Cal Poly Pomona studying as a Computer Engineering major. In the past, I've tutored various college students in a program called Maximizing Engineering Potential (MEP) in subjects ranging from basic C coding to assembly language and Verilog. I have also assisted high school students in several math subjects from algebra to calculus

My process would include first asking for the material beforehand, then meeting the student and getting to know them a little bit. I would then ask them about their preferences in teaching styles, methods, etc. If it's something i can manage, then I would try my best to accomodate.
I've worked with college students, and a few high school students.
Make sure, as a student, you're comfortable around the teacher as this helps extremely when it comes to asking for help and making sure that you're learning in the best way possible.
Not a specific event, but I am always overjoyed if the student I am tutoring is able to show major improvement and succeed in the course(s).
