About Dipta

Customers should hire me because I have over 15 years of experience as a Mathematics Instructor at Delaware Technical Community College and as a private tutor. My track record speaks for itself, with numerous students achieving excellent results and expressing their satisfaction with my teaching style. I specialize in tutoring K to college-level math, SAT, ACT, GRE, and GED math test preparations, ensuring that I can meet the needs of a wide range of students. My approach is focused on making math accessible and understandable, as evidenced by the enthusiastic feedback I receive from my students. When you hire me, you're not just getting a tutor; you're getting a dedicated educator who is passionate about helping students succeed.

I have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and education, as well as a master’s degree in mathematics. Additionally, I have been a Mathematics Instructor at Delaware Technical Community College since 2007, where I teach a variety of math courses. This experience has given me a deep understanding of math concepts and effective teaching strategies. I also have over 15 years of experience tutoring students of all ages, from kindergarten to college level, as well as preparing students for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, and GED math tests. My education and training have equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to help students succeed in math.

About the class

My typical process for working with a new student involves several key steps to ensure that I understand their needs and can tailor my tutoring to help them succeed:

1. Initial Assessment: I start by conducting a placement test or assessment to understand the student's current level of understanding and identify any areas of weakness or gaps in their knowledge.

2. Consultation with School: In the first scheduled session, I ask the student to bring their math teacher's name and email address. I then contact the teacher to find out what concepts the student is learning in school. This helps me align my tutoring with the student's classroom learning and ensure they don't fall behind.

3. Goal Setting: I work with the student and their parents to set specific, achievable goals for their tutoring sessions. This helps us stay focused and track progress over time.

4. Tailored Lesson Plans: Based on the assessment and consultation with the school, I create a personalized lesson plan that targets the student's areas of weakness and builds on their strengths.

5. Focused Sessions: During tutoring sessions, I focus on helping the student with their school work to ensure they stay on track with their classroom learning. I also dedicate time to work on basic skills and fill any gaps in their understanding.

6. Regular Feedback: I provide regular feedback to the student and their parents on their progress and areas for improvement. This helps keep everyone informed and motivated.

7. Adjustments as Needed: I continuously assess the student's progress and adjust my tutoring approach as needed to ensure they are making the most of our sessions.

Overall, my goal is to provide personalized, effective tutoring that helps each student achieve their full potential in math.

I have worked with a wide range of students, from kindergarten to college level. I have tutored students at every grade level in math, helping them build foundational skills, tackle challenging concepts, and prepare for tests and exams. I have also worked with college students, including those at Delaware Technical Community College, teaching a variety of math courses.

In addition to working with students of different ages, I have also worked with students with varying levels of ability. Some students come to me struggling with math and lacking confidence in their abilities, while others are high-achieving students looking to excel even further. I have experience working with students with learning disabilities and other special needs, adapting my teaching approach to meet their individual needs.

Overall, my goal is to meet each student where they are and provide them with the support and guidance they need to succeed in math.

Perfect! I used to hate math and never seem to understand it no matter how hard I tried. Dipta forever changed my view on the subject. She is extremely helpful and patient when it comes to tutoring. I can now say I look forward to math class because I no longer feel helpless. Do yourself a favor and hire Dipta as your tutor. Her prices are fair and she will make sure you understand a concept.

I've had 2 other tutors, but Dipta has been the best tutor by far. I'm glad that she was available to teach me. She takes her time with me, but makes sure that I understand what she has taught before we move on. She gave me a test in the beginning to see where I stood in the math realm. I really appreciated that method, because that was not offered to me by my other tutors. I hope to continue with her, and I'm sure that I will learn a lot.

She knows everyone has a different way and level of learning. She took my child from a low C to A in one semester. This was 3 years ago. He still sees her once a week. He's now a honor roll student in all classes because of the confidence she has installed in him!
