About Rishit
Hi, my name is Rishit! I am currently a sophomore at University of California, Berkeley studying Physics and Computer Science. After taking many rigorous math and science courses, I realized the most valuable resource for learning and success was having access to avenues for personalized learning outside of the classroom. This usually comes in the form of a one-on-one interaction with a professor, a TA, or even another student. However, I realized that often times students are not afforded this valuable personalized learning experience, so I want to help fill that void by really emphasizing the development of a individual learning experience for each one of my students. I acknowledge that everyone has widely varying learning strategies and formats that work for them, so my first goal will always be to identify how a student learns the best. This will help design lesson plans for our sessions but also help create unique homework assignments that will specifically target and identify important skills that the student needs to work on.
As far as experience goes, I have a year of experience tutoring pre-Algebra level math to several middle school aged students. I have also done over 20 hours of community service work in high school where I helped tutor my peers in a wide range of subject areas from chemistry to calculus. In college, I have tutored both high school and college students, primarily in physics and math, where many achieved a 5 on the AP Physics and AP Calculus BC exams.
