About Mark Theodore
Personally, I follow Feynman method of teaching. Simplify. I don’t think there is a need to make complicated concepts even more complicated by using vague terms and out-of-reach vocabulary. The true measure of understanding is the ability to be able to simply explain a concept without scientific jargon. I will be the type of tutor that will walk you through a problem and ensure that you can understand it. Moreover, I believe that the key to success is practice. I encourage all of the students that I tutor to practice the material that they receive from me. My goal is to get the students to a point where they would be able to learn any material easily.
I received a perfect score on my regents Algebra exam and a 5 on my Calculus exam. I have taken rigorous Math courses as an engineer at Harvard. I also have 3 years experience as a tutor with mostly positive feedback.
I am incredibly passionate about science. Whether it is from the unpreferential treatment of inertial frames to the beauty of cell compartmentalization, there is nothing more that I adore. I could spend hours talking about how electricity works or why a watched kettle never boils. More importantly, I believe in equal access to the beauty of science. As such, I believe that when first being introduced to the material, there is no need to introduce science jargon. I explain the materials in a concise, but understandable manner. I focus on the building blocks for conceptualizing a material.
