About Thomas
Are you looking for training in the martial arts, but either you don't want to train in a class with others, or your schedule doesn't allow you to attend classes? If so, then private lessons may be for you! You set the schedule, and you get private, one-on-one training with a professional trainer with over 25 years experience in the martial arts! Training privately lets the instructor focus on you, which means faster advancement and amazing results! This method is recommended for only those serious about learning the martial arts. It will be up to you to practice what you have learned in-between lessons. The more you practice, the faster you will learn....
The style taught is called Gogyo Goshin-jitsu, (The Essence of Five Element Self Defense), a mixed hard/soft martial arts style containing techniques and forms from the martial arts styles of; Karate, (hard-style strikes, kicks and blocks), Judo, (throws and chokes), Jiu-jitsu, (grappling, joint locks and controlling methods), Shaolin and Okinawan Kempo, (the five animal forms; tiger, crane, leopard, snake and dragon), and the very powerful internal martial art of Qi-gong. Also studied are the combat applications of many different weapons.
The instructor is a Certified Fitness Instructor Specialist and also a Nidan in Goshin-jitsu, (second degree black belt), and has over 10 years experience in various martial arts and over 13 years experience in teaching this style of martial arts. Gogyo Goshin jitsu, is a very well rounded style, offering training in all aspects of martial arts listed above and more, (meditation, meridian theory, etc). The training is both indoors and in various outdoors locations, using traditional training methods from the above mentioned styles. This is NOT sport style martial arts, and not for small children, (ages 10+ only). A very effective mixed style for self-defense and personal development on many levels.
For those not interested in belt-rankings, I also teach basic self-defense, (great for security/crisis worker personnel), fitness, grappling and Qi-gong, both available in private or semi-private classes. Do you have a group interested in getting together to train? Contact me, let's set it up!
