I started Aikido in 1993 and practicing since on and off mostly in Satoeme's Aikido Schools of Ueshiba. Joining Atlanta Aikido was a positive shock for me. While most Aikido schools focus on following the traditions, Atlanta School of Aikido is about learning the art in a deeper level you experience elsewhere. Sensei Feldman provides insights that I have not seen at other schools or seminars. It always feels that you are getting a personalized attention and instruction. Having trained for so many years, I never realized some of the gaps I had until I joined the school. I would recommend to any serious experienced or newcomer aspiring Aikidoka.

The individual attention from higher ranks enables new students to learn and progress quickly. Studying Internal Power and how to incorporate it into Aikido is a plus.

The experience of the instructors, the training method, and positive attitude is superior! You are taught at your own pace and are encouraged to practice outside of class. There is a no injury policy. Instruction is heavy on weapons (Jo, Bokken, knife/sword takeaways). There is a direct lineage connection to O-Sensei. The training method teaches footwork, Ki, and balance separating attack/finish/method so that open-handed techniques are derived from nodal points and easy to remember vs. memorizing hundreds of separate techniques. Great school for beginners or advanced students.
