First Lesson Free. DM, Call or text to book a lesson. I'm Jimmy, I'm 17, I have perfect pitch and I've been playing guitar since I was three. I teach bass, guitar, voice, and songwriting. I teach many styles including classical, rock, blues, jazz, pop, and reggae. I'm self taught and I've played pretty much every day of my life. My inspirations are John Mayer and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Many guitar teachers will introduce sheet music early to progress to playing others' compositions. Contrarily, I emphasize technique and ear training to progress to improvisation. My goal is for you to be able to write your own songs! Get ready to learn the fretboard, tablature, hammer-ons and pull-offs, tapping (advanced), singing and playing simultaneously (advanced). Venmo is preferred method of payment, cash or check also accepted. 20/lesson but we can work around that if it is an issue for you.
There is nothing better than playing music. I would have stopped a long time ago if that wasn't the case. I want all people to use their instruments as a conduit through which they allow their emotions to flow.
I've been teaching my whole life. I've sat down with family members, friends, even an old music teacher.
I am completely self taught and I've played every day for 4 hours for about 14 years. Practice, practice, practice, 10,000 hours of anything makes you an expert. I grew up in a musical home. My mom is a theater professor and I grew up listening to my dad play blues guitar. I learned by watching videos of Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Beatles. Over time I could mimic Van Halen and Santana solos and you can too.

Immediately I ask the student what their interests are. Oftentimes a student is inspired by an artist and wants to play along to their songs. I will teach them the fretboard, listen to the songs they are interested in and teach them how to play scales within the key of the song. Teaching scales provides students with an understanding of the guitar and not just an understanding of the song they're trying to learn.
Guys, girls, young, old. If you have fingers you can play guitar.
Make sure their music tastes align with yours, it's gonna be hard to learn country songs if your teacher uses mainly funk techniques.
