About Hayley

I am a passionate ESL tutor who is able to teach via Zoom to fit your schedule.

I have been tutoring ESL students for four years but I have also tutored children in elementary school even before that.

I am CELTA certified from Cambridge University in 2015 and have since tutored students in the US, Ecuador and Brazil.

I come from a family of teachers. Ever since I was a little girl I knew it was in my DNA to be a teacher in one form or another.

I studied anthropology in college and that helped me to see the value of different cultures and different beliefs.

When I studied to get my CELTA certificate in Ecuador I learned a particular style of teaching ESL which has proven effective time and time again.

When meeting a student for the first time, I like to ask lots of questions. What are my new student's interests, hobbies and preferences.

I have worked with students of many different backgrounds and ages. Some have recently come to the United States and others I met when I lived abroad.

Take the leap and try an introductory lesson with a teacher. See how they make you feel. Listen to your gut and go from there.

I work at my local community college and we recently had a "Diversity Day" event. We all learned about different countries, ate new foods and even danced all together. It was a really good time.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do I learn best by listening, reading or doing?

What are some areas of improvement in my academic life?
