Derrick tailors instruction around the player and their capability. He is very calm, positive and gives great feedback regarding what he sees and what the player should do improve. Derrick is also up to date on hitting, he is a student of the game and knows his stuff. He is also very networked with a lot of professional coaches and players but humble about that. He is not out to make as much money as possible as many hitting instructors want to do.

He is great with kids and awesome at teaching many aspects of the game.
