About Rosalie
Rosalie Tenseth is a professional actress most recently seen in the feature film BEN IS BACK with Julia Roberts. She is also a filmmaker and director of the award winning series Constance Cooks and the soon to be released After. Her film Failure Groupies can be streamed on Amazon Prime. Because she has been acting professionally for over 30 years and has worked both in front of the camera and as a director behind the camera, she is able to train you in the technique of acting, creating characters as well as how to prepare for an audition for both stage and screen. She does lessons both online and in person depending on your location. Rosalie is a member of The Television Academy, New York Women in Film and Television, SAG/AFTRA and Actor's Equity Association.
I love helpig my client feel confident about their ability and realize they have the skills to do their best work whether it be in a performance or an audition.
I started when actor friends asked me to help them with their monologues and scene work to prep for auditions and it grew from there.
I have a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre. I have been a SAG/AFTRA, AEA) professional actor for over 30 years. I produced/directed/written 4 award-winning short films, a season of comedy at Happy Martini TV with my production company Boy With Stick Productions and been hired by two production companies to directed After the series season one (about to release) and award winning Constance Cooks, the first 3 episodes.

I ask them what their goals are. Once I am aware of what they need I gather the materials, unless they have sides etc. and we set up our time to work. Since each person is unique, depending on what the goal is, material usually has to be chosen specifically for that client.
I work with both professional actors preparing for their auditions in NYC and LA to middle school students getting ready to audition for their middle school plays and musicals. You don't have to be a pro to work with me, but I'll make you feel and look like one when you audition :)....
I think the technique of acting can be taught by many, however, working with someone who is doing it and auditioning and working on a regular basis is important. They know what is working practically on stage and in the moment on a set verses what can happen in theory when you have crew and directors who are not focusing on you because they are running a crew. They may not understand what a casting director is going to throw at you, or what an eye-line is for camera and how it can make or break your audition. I think working with someone who is working is important.
I was most proud of a middle school student I recently worked with who knew she was up for both the lead and the character role in the school musical and as we worked on the material getting ready for the auditions, she realized she really wanted and felt more suited for the character role than the lead. She realized it was going to be a lot more fun to play that role and that her personality was a much better fit for that role. When I see a student have a self aware moment like that, I am so happy for the client.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the student should know what they need and ask the teacher if it's possible to get it done given current experience you have, the location you are at and the timeline you have. And if it's being done online vs in person - is that possible. I know for myself, it's very possible to do online audition training but I can't do group scene work online for instance.

Rosalie is always happy to work with my son, who is a teen actor. She explains thing to him in a way he understand and enjoys. She also understands thing are last minute and works with a crazy last minute auditions when needed , she is alway there for us!
Rosalie is an amaxing teacher and inspiration to her students. She has worked with my daughter for many years and given her confidence to explore a broad range of acting and singing opportunities.
To start, I think Rosalie and her Acting Academy are the kind of support actors need in this crazy busy. Not only does she get right back to you, she uplifts you in ways that bring out your very best. She will dig into to the work with you and totally make you giggle along the way, even when it's drama. You should be working with her!!
Rosalie is warm and supportive, but she knows when to bring the tough love. She'll help you see things in the script that you hadn't seen before! You can feel confident that you'll go into your audition as prepared as you can be when you coach with Rosalie.
The caliber of instruction I received is top-notch. Rosalie is an amazing coach and gives clear direction, detailed notes and useful feedback to actors that they, in turn, can really work on and apply. I recommend her all of the time for audition coaching, improv, musical theatre and all things acting-related. Rosalie is a real pro and so much fun to work with; knowing she is a true, working actor (and so is her own son) is icing on the cake. Her knowledge of the industry as well as the craft is invaluable.
Rosalie is the real deal. She is a phenomenal coach. She is wicked smart, has a keen eye for both acting & the business. She also happens to be hilarious and an absolute delight to spend time with. She’s a working actor herself, which I think is paramount for being a coach vs. someone who only teaches. I can’t recommend her enough as a coach or a collaborator for almost anything.
