About Antonin
I discovered Photography during my teenage years, and for some reasons in resonate strongly with me.
I have been working in the "visual" industry for more than ten years, mostly as a cameraman and a director of photography.
I studied camera operation and lighting as a specialised technician and worked for TV shows, indie or mainstrain movies, live concert, corporate events, commercials, music videos, etc...
I went through lots of creative process and have been waving my own knowledge almost everyday of my career.
Nowadays, after handling tons of small or big projects, I feel confident enought to share my understanding of photography and videography as well as Lighting processes and technology.
If, as a teacher I was able to "resume" years of trying and shooting and I was able to make an interest resonate and grow into a passion I'd be more than happy !

About the class

First we assess your position on Photography : whats the goal, and why the medium ?
Then where you stand with the basics :
- camera technology (shutter speed, stops, sensibility, etc)
- Photographic techniques
- Optics
- Editing, etc.
At this point we will talk a lot about the gear and what you need, depending on what you want to achieve.
Once you master the basics of photography and its technology we will go into the composition side :
- composition Theory
- Art History
- Photography history
We will study the work of "classical" photographer and painter to get a sense of framing and lighting.
This part will be flooded with small assignment (shoot as ...) followed by review and critics.
Those lessons should give you the fundamentals to understand how photography works and where it comes from. Also, through studying the "masters" and practicing different kind of subjects, your eye will be better educated and you shall be able to assess the needs (framing and settings) of any scene quickly.
And if you want to go further :
- Art of lighting (technology, usage, mood, etc)
- Art of editing (well... hello lightroom)
- The importance of key words and archiving (duh)
