About Gilda

I'm Gilda, a native Spanish tutor from Peru with over 10 years of experience. At 17, I moved to Spain, where I graduated in Hispanic Philology, giving me a unique insight into the linguistic and cultural differences between Spain and Latin America. I'm passionate about teaching my language and helping students achieve their goals through engaging, personalised lessons.

About the class

My student-centred lessons follow the Communicative Language Teaching approach, helping learners use Spanish confidently from day one. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each student's goals. With over 10 years' experience, a degree in Hispanic Philology, and qualifications including DET, CELTA and Instituto Cervantes certification, I teach children, adults, GCSE, A-Level and all levels.

I first met Gilda 5 years ago at an evening college. For 2 years Gilda would proceed to provide lessons, in a group environment. Combining group activities, Gilda encouraged camaraderie and a togetherness in the group.

When Gilda moved onto pastures new, I continued to receive Spanish tutoring on a one to one basis, in which Gilda has tailored lessons towards my rate of development. Gilda encourages me to think outside the box and work outside my comfort zone, and is open to teaching me a range of subjects, to improve my Spanish speaking.

Outside of lessons, I have had the opportunity to meet other students, hosted by Gilda, at Latin restaurants, which I have enjoyed. The experience allows us to further practice our Spanish, and try the different quality of foods, as recommended by Gilda.

The friendly, encouraging and inter personal manner in which Gilda operates as a teacher allows her to get the best out of the student.

I would highly recommend Gilda as a Spanish Tutor, regardless of which level you wish to reach
