About Federica
Ciao, hola, nǐ hǎo!
I am Federica, a teacher with over ten years' experience teaching in schools, universities and one-to-one.
I have taught Mandarin at beginner and intermediate level, and in the past seven years I prepared several students to sit their GCSE and A Level exams. Students regularly achieve 9 and A in these exams.
I have taught learners of every age and level: my youngest pupil was six months old, and my oldest… well, it wouldn't be polite to say!
I have an MPhil and an MA from SOAS in Chinese Literature, and a BA in Chinese and English language and literature. I am also currently studying for an MA in Education.
I am DBS-checked, with Level 3 safeguarding training, and I have completed an Early Career Teacher Training at UCL focusing on Mandarin teaching pedagogy.
Learning a language can be hard work, but it is one of the most rewarding skills you will ever gain, and I will support you every step of the way.
Living abroad showed me that speaking to people in their own language connects you with them in a completely different way. It leads to friendships, opportunities and adventures you will never forget.
