About Elizka
I am a forensic scientist with a genuine passion for my work, particularly in the field of missing and unidentified persons. I find it incredibly rewarding to use science to help provide answers to families and assist in identifying individuals who might otherwise remain unknown.
My passion for teaching began in 2015 during my undergraduate studies at the University of Pretoria, when I started tutoring and discovered a real love for sharing my passion for Medical Sciences with others. Since then, teaching and helping others understand challenging concepts has remained something I genuinely enjoy.
I also have a strong passion for research, learning and continually furthering my education. I believe that learning never really stops, which is one of the reasons I am currently completing my MSc in Forensic Medicine.
Outside of work and studying, I enjoy cycling, spending time with dogs, and getting outdoors whenever I have the opportunity. I have a relaxed personality and a good sense of humour, and I try to bring that same approachable attitude into my teaching. I want my students to feel comfortable, supported and confident, while discovering that learning can actually be enjoyable.

My lessons are tailored to each individual student, because everyone learns differently. I use a relaxed, supportive and sometimes humorous approach to create a safe learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. If a particular teaching method isn’t working, I adapt and find alternative ways to explain the concept until it clicks. My goal is not simply to help students memorise information, but to understand it and retain it long-term.
I hold a BSc in Medical Science, with Anatomy and Physiology as my majors and Pharmacology as my minor, as well as a BSc in Medical Criminalistics. I am currently completing my MSc in Forensic Medicine and am under examination. I also work professionally in forensic science, giving me valuable practical experience in human anatomy, biology, DNA, anthropology and forensic investigation.
I offer Biology and Anatomy tutoring at all levels, from foundational concepts through to more advanced material. I also offer Afrikaans tutoring from beginner level through Grade 12, as Afrikaans is my native language.
My teaching style is friendly, patient and relaxed, while still maintaining structure and accountability. I believe learning should be enjoyable, but I’m not afraid to be firm when a student needs an extra push. Whether you are struggling with the basics, preparing for an exam, or aiming to improve your marks, I will work with you to find the approach that works best for you.
