About Isabella
I graduated from a masters in Mechanical Engineering at UCL in June 2022, summa cum laude, and am now working full-time in London. I have always enjoyed sharing knowledge and empowering people with skills to succeed in their desired field, and have put this into action by tutoring since the age of 16. My students ranged from children to teenagers in the first few years, before including adults when I began my studies. Prior to university, I completed two French baccalaureates (equivalent to IB or A-levels) in economics and humanities, as well as in maths and life sciences (chemistry, biology and physics). Additionally, being from a multicultural background, I have acquired a C1 level in Spanish (fluent, close to native) and speak English and French at a native level. I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and encouraging teacher who is motivated to see my students succeed :)

I approach my teaching in an adaptive way as I first aim to identify my student’s strengths and pre-existing knowledge, and use these as a framework for tackling their weaknesses; after this step, I discuss the student's needs and objectives, and the setting in which the skills will need to be demonstrated (work, school tests, language qualifications...). The content of the lessons is then tailored and structured to achieve regular, measurable and well defined goals agreed with the student and reviewed on a lesson-to-lesson basis. Depending on the duration of the learning/teaching (weeks, months, or longer), some wider objectives can be set as milestones to measure the learning at a higher level. The format of each lesson is set to be immersive and interactive so that practice is at the heart of the learning process, and is supported by listening, writing and/or speaking exercises.
