About Trini

I’m a first year medical student studying at University College London, having left school with 3 A*’s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-levels. Some of my exams were for the CIE Pre-U board, meaning that my learning was more understanding and conceptually based - skills which helped me apply my knowledge to unknown scenarios in exams and interviews. My passion for biology has played a large role throughout my education, allowing me to gain a deep and varied knowledge of the school curriculum and beyond. I want to use this to help students who struggle with understanding and confidence. I also undertook public exams and successfully applied for medicine during the pandemic and experienced a highly competitive year along with new online processes, placing me in prime position to share all the tactics and methods I used for all aspects of public exams and the medical entry process. I have tutored for 2 years, sharing my unique experiences and advice that have improved my students’ grades and confidence greatly, often by several grade points. Furthermore, I tutored my peers in group sessions for many years, through both the refreshed GCSE and A-Levels, largely helping with core understanding and board specific exam-technique to great success. I have also participated in volunteering schemes to teach primary school children French and Science which I found rewarding, and also helped me to adopt a highly adaptive teaching style to fit a range of learners with several different teaching methods and resources. My very recent experience with the medical application process has given me the knowledge to help those applying this year, as I completed both the UCAT and BMAT, alongside holding interview techniques and personal statement sessions for my peers, to high praise.

About the class

Understanding is everything - I believe students excel the most when they are able to identify concepts they don’t fully grasp and as a tutor I can then help build knowledge of the whole area from scratch. I also think it’s important to take an exam oriented approach and work through practice questions with my students so that they are able to learn the right strategy and technique to approach tougher questions. The link created when students apply knowledge to a question helps affirm their understanding. I am very flexible and am happy to adapt to the student’s style of learning to make the experience as positive and productive as possible. In our first lesson, I will establish how you best learn (visually, through notes, through practice questions, etc.), and what you would like to achieve from our lessons. Whether it be improving your syllabus knowledge, knowing how to tackle every kind of exam question, or helping with assigned schoolwork, we will work towards what you need. I will provide resources such as worked past paper solutions and condensed, easy-to-understand notes.

From the outset Trini was relatable, approachable and professional and has continued to be extremely reliable. She has built a fantastic rapport with our son, improved his confidence and enthusiasm for learning massively. I cannot fault her subject knowledge or specific exam board considerations, and she has a fantastic manner about her when teaching and really works hard to understand how she can help. I have no hesitation in recommending her!

I was panicking and struggling looking for a tutor initially as I had tried a few tutors before, but lessons with Trini have made my biology skills exceptionally better! She always puts me at ease if I am struggling with a problem, and has taught me the strategies to tackle even the hardest questions! My mock results have got better since learning with her and I recommend her 10/10

I love Trini's enthusiasm: she doesn't just sit back and make you do questions, she actively engages with me and asks me to think about problems in a way no other teacher would make me. She gives me the tools to be independent by teaching me to truly understand concepts and that's the way a teacher should be. Trini plans her lessons in a fun way which really makes me think about what's going on in maths questions. I learn better this way and she changes his approach to the way I learn. Se's flexible and communicates the ideas very well :)

I can't recommend her enough! Trini is very knowledgable about the subjects she teaches and it shows in the way she can so effortlessly explains the topics my daughter used to find hard! My daughter looks forward to her lessons with Trini because of the fun teaching styles she uses and she is incredibly patient despite my daughter's mild ADHD.
