About Mark

I am a third year student of Spanish language and culture at the RUG. Just came back from half a year in Valencia where I followed a teacher's training at the Univeristat de València. My level is C1 and I would love to share my knowledge and experience of both the spanish language and culture.

About the class

I think it's important to start with an intake so that we can set your learning goals together. Based on these goals, I prepare a personal lesson plan for you. My lessons are focused on communication and the practical applications of Spanish for you. We practice the following skills: Speaking / listening and writing / reading. If you like, I can also teach you something about Spanish culture such as food, music, books, manners etc.

Mark en ik kennen elkaar vanaf de middelbare school, waar we bevriend raakten. Op de middelbare school hadden we samen het vak Spaans, na de middelbare school ging ik Taalwetenschap studeren, Mark ging Europese talen en culturen studeren met als hoofdtaal Spaans (allebei aan de RUG). Omdat ik na de middelbare school geen les meer had in Spaans, vond ik het jammer dat ik dat helemaal niet meer kon toepassen. Daarom heeft Mark mij toen wat bijlessen gegeven in Spaans, om daar weer een beetje mee te oefenen. Mark hanteerde de leermethode waarin hij de hele les aan mij gaf in het Spaans, hij praatte constant Spaans tegen mij. Wanneer ik iets niet begreep kon ik natuurlijk om een vertaling vragen. Ik vond dit een hele fijne manier van les geven, omdat ik wat voorkennis had in Spaans, was het goed om dit op deze manier weer te oefenen. Mark liet mij opdrachten maken per deelonderwerp, dus de ene week ging het over eten, dan over kleding/winkels, dan over het verkeer enzovoort. Aan de hand van deze onderwerpen moest ik verschillende oefeningen maken, op het gebied van grammatica, vocabulaire, audio en zelf spreken. Mark is een goede leraar omdat hij ontzettend veel geduld heeft en een leuke, enthousiaste manier gebruikt om de taal aan te leren.
