About Claire

Hi! I'm a college student studying Business Management with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I graduated from a rigorous, college-preparatory private school, where I developed strong skills in reading, writing, literary analysis, and communication.

Throughout high school, I gained experience working with children of different ages through coaching, camp counseling, and mentoring. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes.

I understand that English isn't everyone's favorite subject, and that's completely okay! My goal is to make learning less intimidating, build students' confidence, and help them achieve academic success. Whether your child needs help with an essay, reading comprehension, grammar, or general homework, I bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a personalized approach to every lesson.

As someone who recently navigated the challenges of middle school and high school myself, I can relate to students while providing the structure, encouragement, and academic support they need to succeed.

About the class

I believe that every student learns differently, and my goal is to make English Language Arts approachable, engaging, and enjoyable! As a college student who attended a rigorous, college-preparatory high school, I understand the importance of developing strong reading, writing, and communication skills.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether that means improving reading comprehension, strengthening grammar and vocabulary, developing essay-writing skills, or preparing for an upcoming test. I like to begin by identifying areas where students feel confident and where they may need extra support. From there, I break down challenging concepts into manageable steps, use examples and guided practice, and encourage students to think independently.

I work with elementary, middle, and high school students, adapting my teaching style to their age, academic level, and learning goals. Having worked with children as a camp counselor and coach, I know how important patience, encouragement, and a positive learning environment are.

Above all, I want students to leave each lesson feeling more confident in their abilities, not just better prepared for their next assignment. My goal is to help students build skills and study habits that will benefit them throughout their education!
