Hi - my name is Rhys!
I'm so excited to help you better understand the subjects you love.
I live in London where I love discovering all the culture the city has to offer. On weekends I love visiting museums and going to the cinema. Originally I am from Cardiff, and am a fluent Welsh speaker.
My favourite authors are E.B. White, Abraham Lincoln, and Rupert Brooke. As well as tutor I also have over a year's experience working as a Production Assistant in film and tv.

My lessons are also structured around the needs of the student, but on the whole session with me follow the structure of a Cambridge supervision.
In a lesson that typically lasts an hour we are likely to examine a student's written work and consider the merits of their argument, academic writing, and synthesis of a literary thesis. During these sessions I feel it's important to help introduce them to new primary and secondary reading. I also feel it's key to help students hone their own research skills to aid future learning.
I also believe strongly in the principles of Practical Criticism and Critical Practice. This is a method of close reading that has become the cornerstone of English courses from primary school right through to university. I feel it's important to devote sessions on all levels to this practice in order to develop the students' literary tool-belt.
I pride myself in both my ability to teach the curriculum but also to galvanise a new enthusiasm in students for their subject.
