About Ethan
I have had a fragmented academic career. In elementary and middle-school I excelled with little effort. I began to struggle in high school because I couldn't excel without effort. In other words, I was lazy.
I know what it's like to fail and to have to learn to become better as well as the satisfying feeling that comes from working hard and achieving a goal.
Relatively recently I started pursuing an engineering degree. Through hard work and the blessing of a good professor, I managed to get A's in precalculus and calculus 1. I am currently in calculus 2 and have an A for the time being.
Not only will I attempt to teach my students math but I will also attempt to impress upon the importance and benefit of hard work. Many of us haven't learned how to work hard. It's an invaluable skill that can be learned.

I may be like you. When I was young, I had some talent in math. As classes got harder, my talent reached its limit and I've had to improve my math ability through hard work and diligent study. By tutoring you, I will learn math even more deeply.
- I love teaching through analogies - when possible. I will try my best to relate new concepts to something you already know.
- Tentatively, my lesson plan(s) will be made on a case-by-case basis.
- I think and hope that I am more patient than other tutors/teachers. I know what it's like to struggle.
- My target audience is ideally early college level students. My understanding of precalculus and lower is relatively strong. I'm willing to take a crack at calculus 1 and 2 but it will take me more time to deliver results.
