Hi! My name is Alicia, and I am a D1 student-athlete double majoring in Economics & Psychology at Yale University. I have a lot of experience working with youth, and I am committed to adapting my teaching style to meet each student’s individual needs. I focus not only on improving performance, but also on helping students develop long-term problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of the material. I take a patient, structured, and encouraging approach to tutoring, focusing on building both understanding and confidence. I start by identifying a student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I prioritize active learning—having students work through problems themselves while I guide and support their thinking.
A typical lesson includes a brief review of previous material, introduction of new concepts with examples, and plenty of guided practice. I also incorporate strategies for problem-solving and test-taking to help students become more independent.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain concepts in multiple ways and create a comfortable, low-pressure environment where students feel confident asking questions. As a student at Yale, I bring strong academic experience and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
My lessons are ideal for elementary through high school students, including those needing homework help, foundational support, or preparation for exams.
