About Gerald

Background: BRK is, a non-receptor tyrosine kinase, overexpressed in approximately 85% of human invasive ductal breast tumors. It is not clear whether BRK expression correlates with breast cancer subtypes, or the expression has prognostic or diagnostic significance. Herein, we investigated the correlation of BRK with any breast cancer subtypes and clinicopathological significance of BRK expression in breast cancer.

About the class

Excerpt from a 2022 research paper: Multiple drug resistant cancers develop all too soon in patients who received successful cancer treatment. A lack of treatment options often leaves palliative care as the last resort. We tested whether the insulin sensitizer, metformin, known to have anti‐cancer activity, could impact canines with drug resistant lymphoma when added to chemotherapy.

Gerald worked hard to achieve his status as a researcher and professor. Starting out as a musician and later achieving a PHD from Oxford tells an interesting journey of a life well spent. Gerald is still working after trying retirement and missing his connection with research and students. He is an excellent teacher with patience and a great sense of humour. Anyone would be fortunate to receive their learning experience through Gerald Davies.
