About Augustus
Over the past decade, I’ve worked across film, television, and digital media, bringing creative ideas to life through thoughtful visual storytelling. My experience spans independent films and large-scale commercial productions for clients such as Google, Dell, and IBM, where I’ve learned to balance creativity, precision, and storytelling intent. I began my career learning the craft of filmmaking on celluloid cameras such as the ARRIFLEX 435 and SR16, which taught me the discipline of light, texture, and exposure. As technology evolved, I transitioned into digital cinematography, working extensively with the ARRI ALEXA SXT, RED, Canon, and Sony camera systems. Along the way, I’ve gained hands-on experience with camera grips including dolly, gimbals, and various stabilization rigs, as well as a wide range of cine and video lighting equipment. My workflow often extends into post-production, where I edit and color grade using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, ensuring that every frame maintains the same visual language from shoot to screen. Academically, I hold a Master’s in Cinematography for Film and Television from Bournemouth University (UK) and a Bachelor’s in Film Technology from SRM University (India). I’m currently pursuing an MBA at Maynooth University (Ireland) to combine creative leadership with business strategy. At the heart of my work lies a simple belief — there’s visual interpretation in every frame. Every image has the power to communicate emotion and meaning when crafted with intention and care.

My approach to teaching is practical, creative, and experience-driven. I believe filmmaking and cinematography are best learned by doing — by understanding not just the technical settings, but the why behind every creative choice. Each session is built around visual thinking, storytelling, and the emotional impact of light, framing, and movement.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals. Beginners start with the fundamentals of camera operation, lighting, and composition, while advanced students explore cinematic techniques, production planning, and creative direction. For social media creators and professionals, I also cover efficient workflows and visual strategy for digital content.
Classes typically last 60 to 90 minutes and combine discussion, hands-on exercises, scene analysis, and personalized feedback. I encourage students to bring their own ideas or ongoing projects so we can refine them together.
My goal is simple — to help students build confidence behind the camera, develop their visual storytelling voice, and see visual interpretation in every frame they create.
