About Devarshi
Devarshi Santra is a professional Drums educator and performing musician with over 15 years of teaching experience. His journey as a drummer began at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, where he was a drummer in the school band and developed his passion for performing music from an early age.
A Grade 8 graduate of Trinity College London and an alumnus of the Performance Program at Berklee College of Music, Boston, Devarshi combines formal musical training with extensive practical experience across multiple styles of drumming.
He has taught at leading institutions including The British School, Chanakyapuri and the Delhi School of Music, working with students of different ages, levels, and musical backgrounds. His teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals while developing technique, rhythm, coordination, musicality, and performance confidence.
His areas of expertise include music notation, drum technique, grooves and fills, multi-genre drumming, song-based learning, and Trinity Grade Exam preparation from Grades 1–8. He also helps students prepare for school band auditions and develop the skills needed to perform confidently with other musicians.
With a structured and personalized approach, Devarshi believes that learning drums should be both technically rewarding and enjoyable. His goal is to help every student develop into a confident, creative, and well-rounded drummer

My teaching method combines structured learning with a practical, enjoyable approach to drumming. Each lesson is tailored to the student's age, experience, learning pace, and musical goals. We build a strong foundation in posture, grip, technique, timing, rhythm, coordination, and music notation before progressing to more advanced concepts.
Students also learn through grooves, fills, exercises, and songs across different musical styles, helping them develop both technical ability and musical expression. For students preparing for Trinity Grade Exams or school band auditions, lessons include focused preparation, repertoire, sight-reading, and performance practice. The goal is to help every student become a confident, independent, and well-rounded drummer.
