About Yicheng

I’m a student from Raffles Institution and I’ve been doing volunteer tutoring to help younger students strengthen their math foundations. I scored AL1 for Mathematics in PSLE, and I focus on explaining concepts clearly and guiding students through their homework so they can solve questions independently. My approach is patient, structured, and exam-focused, helping students build confidence while improving accuracy and speed.

About the class

Lesson is 1 hour long.
0–5: Scan homework; prioritise hardest questions
5–50: Work through homework continuously
Student attempts each question first
I guide with hints, not answers
Explain method only when stuck
Emphasise steps and reasoning
Flag repeated mistakes
50–55: Review key errors and correct methods
55–60: Summarise patterns (e.g. common question types, shortcuts) + assign 1–2 similar questions if needed
