About Maurice
I am a Kenyan-born painter currently completing my MFA at City & Guilds of London Art School. In my own practice, I use oils, acrylics, and pastels to explore the "quiet violence" and atmosphere of our modern world. I bring this professional experience into my lessons to help you move past technical hurdles and find your own creative voice.
I offer one-on-one guidance for anyone looking to master painting techniques, with a particular focus on figurative work. As a current MFA student at City & Guilds of London Art School, I offer professional painting and drawing lessons tailored to your specific goals. A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes and includes a practical demonstration followed by guided practice where I provide clear, one-on-one feedback. My approach is simple: I give you the technical "tools" and confidence you need to stop just practising and start creating professional-standard work. Whether we are focusing on colour theory, composition, or mark-making, the goal is to help you find your own unique style while building a solid foundation of craft.
