About Alex
I am a young and highly motivated student studying in my second year of college. At college, I study A-Level Maths, Business and Psychology and AS-Level Further Maths, which I am currently predicted to achieve A*, A*, A, A respectively. My passion for maths has been seen all throughout my student life, as at GCSE I achieved a Grade 9 in Maths and a Grade 7 in Further Maths. Whilst my qualifications are important, I believe my greatest asset to tutoring is my outgoing personality and adaptability to students' current abilities. I have tutored students with grades ranging from 3-8 in maths, in which all have seen improvement in the following months tutoring with me. I try to maintain a light-hearted and fun environment as I believe that is when students can best learn. I truly wish to see the best for all my students and offer all I can in order to see my students prosper and become able to take advantage of more options thanks to higher grades. As a recent GCSE student, I can understand those I tutor and this means I am a great option for anyone looking for professional, but still entertaining, lessons.

As a tutor, I aim to offer engaging and enjoyable lessons that are created differently with each student in mind. As a second year college student studying maths and further maths at A-Level I offer a unique service to students as I have recently completed my GCSEs. For this reason, I can better understand struggles and help to give fresh advice to students who can range from struggling to pass to pushing for those higher grades. I strive to make lessons efficient and push my students, whilst also remaining a fun and understanding environment. In terms of teaching methodology I tend to be more adaptive to students' current abilities and goals, instead of the usual rigid lesson plans you tend to find. For this to be achieved, our first lesson would be spent looking at areas which require attention and then I would personally create further lesson plans based off of my inferences of your preferred learning styles and goals. These lessons would be 1 hour in length and aimed at any GCSE student currently in high school. It is my love for maths and experience with the subject which I believe truly makes my lessons highly valuable to any aspiring improvement. Whilst I have not been paid to tutor too often, I do have experience at tutoring family members and friends' family members at which I was able to take one student from a grade 5 in maths all the way to a Grade 8 from the start to the end of year 11.
