About Uge
For the past 20 years, I have been privileged to teach piano to nearly 300 students across various age groups. I work with high school students, college learners, and adults who seek structured and motivating piano lessons.
My teaching philosophy emphasises understanding and steady progress. I ensure that students master foundational skills such as posture, finger control, rhythm accuracy, and sight-reading. I also encourage musical expression and help students connect emotionally with the pieces they play.
I design lesson plans that include technical development, theory application, and performance preparation. I teach students how to practise efficiently and manage their time wisely. Many of my students have achieved distinction in music examinations and performed confidently in recitals.
My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated to improve and proud of their achievements.

My piano teaching methodology is student-centred and focuses on communication, creativity, flexibility, and consistent improvement. I understand that every learner is different, so I design lessons that match individual needs and goals. Clear communication ensures students fully understand rhythm patterns, dynamics, articulation, and musical structure.
I break complex pieces into smaller sections to make learning manageable and less stressful. Creativity is an important part of my lessons because it builds confidence and deeper musical understanding. I encourage students to explore improvisation, create simple melodies, and interpret music with personal expression.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson pace and teaching strategies based on progress. For beginners, we focus on building strong basics. For advanced learners, we refine technique, expression, and performance skills. I also teach supporting subjects such as music reading, harmony, ear training, and chord progression studies. My goal is to guide students towards becoming skilled pianists who understand music and perform with confidence.
