About Saira
I am a friendly and passionate tutor with years of Python programming experience. I have tutored over 120 lessons in Python, Scratch and Maths to students varying from Year 7 to Year 11. I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
I attained straight A*s and 9s in all my A-levels and GCSEs, which included CIE IGCSE Computer Science and AQA A-level Computer Science.
Currently a Computer Science Undergraduate student.
I enjoy tutoring programming the most as I love to see the amazing progress students make and the way their interest grows as they learn more. I truly believe that programming is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding skills to learn. I love helping and watching students experience the same programming journey that I did when I was their age (not to long ago!)

- I can teach a student Python programming basics from scratch.
- Alternatively I can tutor students with some existing knowledge already to extend their skills or support them alongside their school syllabus.
General Syllabus for student's looking to learn Python from basics:
- we will build up a foundation of programming in python
- starting by working through simple output, input; iteration and selection
- after mastering these basics, we can work on some more complex interesting programs and extend your Python knowledge
For younger students with little to no experience
- we will begin with Scratch block programming
- this is a good way to solidify their understanding and to keep them excited and engaged in the early part of their programming journey
Typical lesson (50 minutes):
- I will introduce new concepts with a demo
- we will discuss the examples and solidify a general understanding
- I will give you some tasks to do yourself (whilst sharing your screen) that we can work through together
- by the end of the lesson/s you will be able to complete a similar task without my guidance
- each lesson will build on the previous and we may cover a topic over multiple lessons

Saira is an incredible tutor. She is so patient and kind when teaching and takes care and effort to explain new concepts well. She is also extremely passionate about her areas of interest and that really shines through when she is helping others learn.
