About Eric
He began studying piano at the age of 15 . He entered the Faculty of Music in 2007, where he studied composition with Leonardo Coral and piano with Ninowska Fernández-Britto. He has performed as a composer and pianist in the Carlos Chávez Hall, La casa del lago, the Xochipilli Hall and other venues of the UNAM. He has presented his music in Canada, in the Jose Vasconcelos Library, in the Library of Mexico and other cultural venues. He won the UNAM-Canada composition contest in 2016 and the Joaquín Gutierrez Heras Award in 2017. In 2017 he was awarded the Honorary Mention of the Composition Degree at the School of Music of the UNAM. Parallel to his preparation in classical music he has studied jazz with Abraham Barrera and Alex Mercado.

My teaching method is adjusted to the needs of each student, but always with a good theoretical basis, which includes: technique, reading, ear training, harmony, form and creativity. I teach various genres, ranging from classical music, jazz, blues, funk, rock, pop, Latin music, etc. I also tackle historical aspects of music, and if the student wishes, classes can include composition.
