Since the age of 14, I have been exposed to teaching in a dance environment where I began assisting Bollywood dance classes and eventually went on to lead 3 weekly classes without any assistants. I independently taught ages 5-18 years old and spent a total of 480 hours teaching. I prepared my weekly class agenda, assembled dance choreography, and structured each week strategically to ensure students were ready for their final dance performance.
Since then, I have completed a Ph.D. in Neurobiology where I took on the role as a Graduate Student Instructor for 4 semesters in Anatomy and Physiology of the Eye. Here, I taught students who were 21+ years old who were all Optometry Doctorate students. I was responsible for weekly discussion sections where I reviewed complex topics in their course, answered questions, and prepared sample quizzes.
