As an educator deeply passionate about fostering students' growth and success, my teaching method revolves around creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every individual feels valued and supported. I blend traditional teaching techniques with innovative approaches to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. With a background in disability and neurodivergence, I love meeting students where they are and building on their unique strengths.

A typical lesson plan begins with a warm welcome, setting a positive tone for learning. I often start with an interactive discussion or activity to gauge students' prior knowledge and build connections to the lesson topic. For English and poetry, I incorporate various literary analyses, creative writing exercises, and multimedia resources to deepen understanding and appreciation for language and literature. When preparing students for standardized tests like the ACT, SAT, and GRE, I emphasize critical thinking, test-taking strategies, and targeted practice to boost confidence and performance. Additionally, I offer personalized guidance on resume building, leveraging my experience in the education and nonprofit sectors to help students highlight their unique strengths and achievements.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my compassionate approach and genuine investment in each student's success. I strive to create a supportive learning community where students feel empowered to take risks, ask questions, and collaborate with their peers. My outgoing and friendly demeanor fosters a positive rapport with students, making learning enjoyable and impactful. Furthermore, my background as a director at an education nonprofit equips me with insights into educational equity and advocacy, informing my teaching practices to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all learners.

My lessons are tailored to a wide range of learners, including high school students preparing for college entrance exams, college undergraduates seeking to enhance their writing and analytical skills, and adult learners pursuing personal or professional development. Whether it's mastering Shakespearean sonnets, acing the SAT essay, or crafting a compelling resume, I am dedicated to empowering students to achieve their goals and unlock their full potential in English, poetry, standardized testing, and beyond.
