About Ilanthalaivan
Hola, I’m Ilan.
I’m someone who genuinely enjoys explaining things in a way that makes them finally “click” for students. Over time, I’ve realised that many learners aren’t struggling because the subject is difficult, but because it hasn’t been explained in the right way for them.
I’ve studied and worked in both India and the UK, and that journey has shaped how I see design, learning, and teaching. It has also helped me understand the different challenges students face—whether it’s confidence, structure, or simply knowing where to begin.
Outside of teaching, I’m deeply interested in architecture, cities, and how spaces influence people’s lives. I also spend time creating content and exploring ideas around design and learning.
I’m approachable, patient, and focused on making sure you feel comfortable asking questions, no matter how small they may seem.

Hi, I’m Ilan—an Architect and Lecturer based in the UK, specialising in Design, Surveying, Planning, and Construction.
I’ve always believed that architecture isn’t just about theory. It’s about understanding how ideas come to life in the real world. That’s exactly how I approach my teaching.
I support students who want to move beyond just “getting through” their work and actually understand what they’re doing. Whether it’s breaking down a complex construction topic or guiding you through a design idea, I make things simple, clear, and practical.
