Cengiz is a very reliable coach and an excellent communicator with great position understanding. Cengiz is patient and well researched, extremely pationate about the game. He draws knowledge from his job as a translator and university tutor and can communicate effectively in a variety of different languages.

Cengiz is very professional and knowledgeable coach. I first got acquainted with him when I visited his chess school in Kyrenia whilst being on holiday there. I first observed him whilst he was teaching kids. He explained the Petrov defence to them. I am no stranger to Petrov defence but I was really impressed by the depth of Cengiz’s knowledge and realised how little I knew in comparison to him. Cengiz delivered his lecture in a very measures way and calibrated his deliver in a very comprehensible manner. He gave regular examples from chess openings to corroborate his points. One pleasant surprise for was the description of the Shepherd’s mate in Turkish. Within a short space of time I learned a lot from Cengiz on Petrov defence and linguistic beauty of the turkish language. As a keen chess player and father of two kids I can say with confidence that I would be delighted if Cengiz was the tutor of my kids. Cengiz is a rare type of chess tutor from whom one can learn not only good chess but also how to be a decent human being.
