About Jasmeen
Hi everyone! I'm Jasmeen and I have a degree in Cellular Molecular Biology with a great interest in Criminal Forensics,
Biology, Chemistry, Medicine and Pathology. I have skills in math, science, and in the laboratory. I have
been tutoring for 5+ years now in highschool and college to my classmates and underclassmen in
biology and chemistry. I am also comfortable with teaching K-12. I want students to feel that they are being treated as actual humans and not robots. My most simple rule, respect me and I respect you.

I know firsthand how extreme school
can be especially when there is a lack of support. Since I never had that support in life, I would love to be
that support for others. One thing I teach my students is that your GPA and grades DO NOT reflect your
intelligence and who you are as a student and person. My entire life I have gone through harsh
professors and tutors who used fear and aggression as their methods which is only detrimental and
negatively impactful.
When I tutor, I do it with patience, care and understanding; teaching the way I wish I was taught. I
ensure my students are aware they are in a safe, motivated environmental space, where they won’t fear
degrading words or being yelled at for simply getting something wrong. Infact, encouraging students to
participate when tackling a challenging question so that they feel involved, feel important, are more
likely to retain information. I adapt to methods that are most appropriate for each student such as
visual, audio learners etc. They can even begin to see complicated, difficult, intimidating material as fun.
When navigating and learning myself, I simplify the huge words that the textbook/professors would
throw at us expecting to immediately absorb it, into comprehendible adequate methods to actually
UNDERSTAND the material. I would like to pass on these methods to anyone who feels hopeless. I
believe every single individual is capable. I have much sympathy towards my students who have a
difficult time grasping concepts, but I will also be assertive to make sure students are not slipping
through the cracks. I believe in balance and compromise.
