About Yuki
I have been tutoring for 5 years in mathematical subjects ranging from elementary school math to AP Calculus and SAT Mathematics. Two of my students scored a perfect 800 (improved from the mid 600s) and a few others scored in the range of 730-790 after months of hard work. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano.

My students range from 5th grade to 12th grade. I start off by getting a sense of a student's learning style and how they think and approach problems. If a student is hesitant or fearful of being or sounding wrong, I encourage and reassure them that we all grow and learn from making mistakes.
When it comes to teaching the material, I enjoy presenting a topic from multiple angles, giving visual explanations, and providing proofs (in a simple style). The techniques I employ in helping a student gain a better understanding of and appreciation for mathematics, or tricks to make the approach easier. Since the topics presented in school may seem disjoint on occasion, I also make sure to emphasize the link between a current and past topic, which allows a student to understand the foundations and elements that mathematics builds on.
Often times if the school teacher has to rush through the material for the year quickly, all the information can become overwhelming and confusing. My role as a tutor is to organize and present the concepts in a structured way to help a student see the connections and patterns more easily.
