About Asher
I am a University of Cambridge PhD researcher with a First-Class MEng in Biomedical Engineering from UCL and several years of experience tutoring science and mathematics. I teach GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science and Maths, as well as A-level Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
I am committed to making science and mathematics accessible, engaging and less intimidating. I break complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and adapt my explanations to each student’s level, goals and way of thinking. My aim is not only to improve grades, but also to build confidence, curiosity and a genuine understanding of the reasoning behind each topic.

My lessons are tailored to the individual student rather than following a fixed formula. At the start, I identify the student’s goals, current level, areas of difficulty and preferred way of learning. Some students benefit from exploring a topic in depth until the underlying ideas become intuitive, while others need a more focused approach built around exam technique, past-paper questions and mark-scheme language. I adapt accordingly.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and may include clear explanation of a topic, worked examples, guided questions and independent practice. I encourage students to explain their reasoning aloud so that misunderstandings can be identified and corrected early. For exam-focused lessons, we work on interpreting questions, planning answers, avoiding common mistakes and applying knowledge under timed conditions.
