About James
I am currently a second-year undergraduate at Cambridge studying Natural Sciences (Biological). My aim is to help make STEM more enjoyable and accessible for secondary school students, whilst also improving understanding of the subject. I have achieved 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s at GCSE, with 4 A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths A Level. I also have experience mentoring students within my college. As someone who has experience with the process of exam preparation and pressures, I can apply my knowledge and understanding of revision and learning skills to each student, tailoring to the specific needs and gaps in each scenario. I understand the importance of trying different things to see what works, with an open-minded attitude to education.

In my lessons, I aim to help students with whatever hurdles they are facing in their studies, build confidence and academic fluency, and help understand what needs and personal aims each pupil has. I hope to create a friendly environment in sessions, so we can work together effectively. Lessons are between 1-2 hours depending on individual preferences.
