About Stanley
I have a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Cambridge and am currently a postgraduate student at Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a writer working in opera and spoken theatre.
My specialisms during my undergraduate degree included the ancient world, late antiquity and medieval religion as well as literary, cultural, religious and gender histories more broadly. I am confident in tutoring beyond these areas as well.
As a writer my work has been performed in various venues, and I have extensive experience as a script reader and published critic. I am deeply passionate about tutoring drama and theatre, both as a performance discipline and as an academic one. I have an A-level in English Literature.

I am passionate about working with students looking to pursue extra study of the humanities, either to improve their grades or with a view to further study at university. I am flexible about lesson length.
I am very flexible in my tutoring approach depending on the needs of the student - I will contact a student about their needs before the first lesson to design a session that will work best for them. I can provide support with exam preparation, revision, improving essay technique, university entrance and extra-curricula development any area of history.
For A Level or GCSE students I can tutor through a piece of written work by the student followed by a conversation in which I feedback about the work. This is aimed at improving both students ability to write academic prose and their knowledge. In addition it will build a students confidence in talking about their own work (a key skill at university level in both History and English Literature). I am also able to go through exam questions with students, help them revise content, set and explore further reading together and give guidance on university applications and interviews.
