About Alexander
I have recently graduated from Imperial College London with a first class degree in Mathematics (76%) and am a current 2nd year Economics postgraduate at the University of Cambridge. Whilst at school, I attained A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A level and 11 A*s at GCSE (including an A** in Further Maths). In addition, for my Gold DofE, I helped tutor a GCSE mathematics class in which all students received above an A. In terms of experience, I have been tutoring professionally (i.e. being paid to tutor) for 4 years, working with a wide range of ages and abilities. Notably, in the past year, I have had 2 students accepted into Eton and Harrow (I was employed as an admissions tutor, conducting interview and entrance exam practice) with one of the students being awarded the prestigious King's scholarship. I also helped another student achieve A*s in both Maths and Further Maths at A level (having been predicted AB respectively the previous year) and a struggling GCSE student achieve a 7 (having been predicted a 4 at the start of the 2021/2022 academic year). Additionally, I have experience tutoring students with SEN (specifically dyslexia and ADHD) and a clear Enhanced DBS Check.

With Mathematics, I find engaged practice by far the most effective way to improve. My lessons are therefore predominantly based around the student completing carefully crafted questions themselves, whilst I offer constructive hints and explain complex concepts in an easy to understand manner. Nobody learns from watching someone else complete a question, but if you are in the driving seat you become more adept at understanding and answering the wide variety of questions presented at school level mathematics, ultimately improving both confidence and ability. My lessons are completed optimally online, since I have an interactive tablet alongside digital PDFs of all the current school textbooks.

Perfect! We began using Alex for our son, and we found it so helpful that we then suggested our daughter use him to help her through the stress of GCSE’s (and us!)
As she’s dyslexic, he found ways to make lessons accessible and engaging.
He always managed to make Maths feel it was within her capabilities, which was a real boost for her confidence.
We are so glad we found Alex and would highly recommend him to others.Perfect! Alex is fantastic, he's helped me regain a majority if my maths groove and is guiding me through my A levels as we speak. Alex was a brilliant tutor for me during my A Levels, helping me to achieve an A* in Maths last year. His teaching methodology is brilliant and I learnt more with him than I did in school, despite our lessons being remote (he has a tablet that allows for interactive lessons).
Was a top top tutor for me
I first met Alex on our maths course at Imperial and he was so trustworthy that he became my housemate next year. If I can trust him with my hummus in the fridge then you can trust him with your learning. In all seriousness I know from first hand experience that Alex has the proficiency and drive to succeed in maths, I've learned a lot from him from our time in the library which paid off from my own exam results this year.
Alex taught me in school and he was an amazing help. He focuses on questions, helping you to understand what each exam board is asking. Would recommend entirely, he got me an A* at GCSE
