About Durga
Hello! I’m Durga, a B.Sc. Mathematics student at S.P. College, Pune, and I’m also pursuing the BS in Data Science program at IIT Madras.
I enjoy Mathematics not just as a subject to study, but as something to understand. My approach to tutoring is therefore focused on building concepts first and then using them to solve problems confidently.
As a student myself, I understand that sometimes a topic can seem difficult simply because it was explained too quickly or in a way that doesn't make sense to you. I try to approach problems from the student's perspective and explain them step-by-step, using simple language and examples wherever possible.
I can help with understanding concepts, solving problems, clearing doubts, preparing for tests and strengthening mathematical fundamentals.
My goal isn't just to help you get an answer — it's to help you understand why the answer works, so that you can solve similar questions independently.
I’m patient with questions and encourage students to ask even the things they feel are “too basic” to ask. There is no such thing as a stupid doubt in Mathematics!

My classes are focused on understanding concepts, solving problems and building confidence in Mathematics.
We’ll begin by understanding the student’s current level and identifying the topics where they need help. I’ll then explain the concept step-by-step using simple examples before moving on to practice questions.
I encourage students to attempt problems themselves rather than simply watching me solve everything. When they make a mistake, we’ll look at why it happened and work on correcting the underlying concept.
Depending on the student’s needs, classes can focus on:
Clearing doubts and understanding difficult concepts
Strengthening mathematical fundamentals
Step-by-step problem solving
Homework and practice questions
Test and exam preparation
Revision of important topics
The pace of the class will be adjusted according to the student. If the basics need more attention, we’ll work on those first rather than rushing through the syllabus.
My aim is for the student to eventually be able to look at a problem and think, “I know how to approach this,” rather than simply memorising a method.
