For many students and parents alike, maths can seem daunting and difficult to understand at times. I help students gain confidence in their own critical thinking, analytical and mathematical skills, and challenge the students in a variety of ways to further develop their abilities in order to reach their goals. I always ensure that the work given is at the right level for the student so that, very importantly, the student feels motivated and interested, yet challenged so that the rewards for their efforts can be quickly seen and progress is clear. I have a passion for both maths and helping people so I personalise each session to the individual student's learning preferences, whether that being analogies relating a topic or problem to a real world scenario or teaching skills and tools to make some problems easier to visualise for more visual learners. I have experience working with GCSE teachers leading maths revision sessions for all levels as well as working privately with students and as a young person myself I can relate to many struggles that students face, that perhaps many teachers cannot understand, and help them overcome it to reach their full potential as young mathematicians! My first session is provided free of charge and I use this session to assess the student's strengths and weaknesses and have an honest conversation with the student and/or their guardians to listen to their concerns, understand their aspirations and discuss a plan of action to help the student move forward.
