About Maryam
Hi, I'm Maryam, a passionate science educator with over 4 years of experience studying and teaching chemistry and biology at the high school and college levels. My goal is to not only help you succeed in your classes, but to make complex scientific ideas feel accessible, meaningful, and even exciting. Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in the sciences both inside and outside the classroom. I’ve competed in—and won—various STEM competitions, where I put my knowledge to the test in real-world problem-solving scenarios. These experiences have sharpened my analytical thinking and reinforced the importance of a deep, conceptual understanding—something I now prioritize in my teaching style. Beyond academics, I’ve taken on leadership roles in several science-focused organizations, including serving as Vice President of the Science National Honor Society, where I helped mentor peers and promote science literacy in the community, and President of the Aspiring Physician Scientists Association, where I led initiatives connecting students with research, clinical experiences, and professional development opportunities in the biomedical sciences. These roles have strengthened my ability to communicate complex material clearly, support students at all levels, and create a structured, empowering learning environment. As a fellow student currently navigating the college experience, I bring a fresh and relatable perspective to every lesson.
